Reflections of my progress as a writer this semester
In this semester I have improved my English writing, especially doing essays, because,
To increase my rate of progress I personally can see more programs in English, I can talk with people who talk English. I can try to write in English more often
My suggestions for the class are: It would be better if we play Taboo, we also practiced, by playing, our vocabulary. I also say we should have a better schedule, because so late at night I used to think in food and sleeping. So for next courses it would be better to put another schedule.
, I would like to see activities that be more relation with this part of english, like maybe speaking more often in class, or listening music in English, or playing, I think you learn to speak by speaking, its the only way.
I deserve a 5 in my class, because I was always respectfully, responsible, I was interesting in participate of class, in interact with people, in doing my works,

Prostitution

Prostitution is a world wide subject. Everyone knows about it, women especially are the ones who do these types of jobs, because they don’t have any options and the world takes advantage of it. The world is giving us a side of this that is painful for a woman to now. Men nowadays are in favor of the oldest job in the world and it should not be like that. Not only it hurts women, it also does not let her have choice but to stay in that world, and shows her that she should do that because she doesn’t have any other choice. The world doesn’t know that women do it because they need money.

Denigrates women because men treat them like objects. They are using them and they are hurting them and it can be associated with rape. She is paid for being hurt, for the use of her body, for raping her, that is what men do and they have no mercy. They talk about it like is the best thing that they can do, sleep with a prostitute. They feel like they win something, that they are the best of the best. They don’t think that the poor woman is doing this because she needs the money, because she can not do anything about it, or because she is forced to do it.

Some prostitutes believe that when they decide to take this job they have to stay there forever. They don’t think about the future; they believe that they are trapped in this horrible world that doesn’t have an exit. People make them believe that if they want to get out, and start a normal life, when people find out what they use to do, they are going to discriminate against them and push them away. They don’t want to experience that type of rejection. They make the choice to stay there all their lives. Some of them have the luck to marry one of their customers, but that is just one in a million. Most of them end it up in jail or dead, others stay there all their lives.

Most of the women who choose to do this job do it because they need the money really fast, and they don’t know another way to get it that fast. Some of them are really poor and do not have an education. They don’t know other choices but that one, that horrible choice, that choice marks them for life. Others have the back luck to find bad men in their lives and those men force them to do these types of jobs. These men control several women and put them a price for the clients. Even if the women make the choice to get out, the men are not going to let them go away. That’s why that some of them end up murdered, or commit suicide by the hands of their controller or by a client because some of them are really violent with the women to feel pleasure , or just for being bad men , with no mercy and no feelings.

Most of these women are really poor, and do not have education, so they do not know that are other ways to survive in the world. The government must play attention to this problem. It is really sad to see young women wasting their lives. They have a future , they can study , get better jobs , marry , have kids , have a wonderful life , be happy , and feel complete as women.

The government around the world need to create programs to help women’s who wants to get out of this horrible world of prostitution and convince them that they are safe and that they will have a trite future if they live that world. They must know that are other ways, to survive in live. The government can help them.

Reality TV

Are they really true? A lot of times people think, that the things that happens on this shows are natural commune things that happens to everyone, well they are at list for me, last year i experience the most important thing of my life, you may find it ridiculous, but i found the boy of my dreams.

It all started last year when a friend of mine convinced me to participate on a reality show. I wasn’t exited because i really thought that i wasn’t going to be cast, but i was, surprised.

I was going to meet new people and maybe have fun, but i also was scared and terrified. Those shows are not nice with the participants and neither the people that i was going to live with these shows have a piece and people are capable of doing a lot of things that they wouldn’t do like betraying their best friends just for Money.
So i was going to be careful the first day i met the most handsome boy I eve ever seen in my entire life. Everyone was nice except one of my Works enemies. Lisa. She hated me because the boy of my dreams did not look at her and he prefers to stay with me. I tried my best to maintain things calm but being locked down in a house with 8 more people is not easy if you talk something bad of anyone they can easily find out and i did, that girl was speaking horrible things about me, but i let it pass.

In previous shows the bad people always go out at the first weak. For my bad luck she stayed every day we had a fight for a lot of people its really fun seeing someone in pain or fighting, or just hating someone i think that one of the reasons why neither of us was

out of the show. She wanted my guy but i wasn’t going to let her this time it was personal not only i was going to win the guy, but also the prize.
The grand finales were here and guess who waned, yes that’s right i did, but not only had I taken the price I also took the boy of my dreams. She cried, she scream, it was the show with the biggest rating ever, and i was the big diva.

INTIFADA

Know as an Arabic uprising, in Israeli’s occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the Israeli’s, considered as an evil mean way, to reject them, and take then out of Palestine, and the Palestinians, believe that is fair, because they are invading his lands. Since 1987 and early 2005 threes being 2 intifadas world wide now who involve this 3 stamens: Hamas, Oslo process, and Al-Fatah.

The first intifada began in an accident, in which an Israeli truck run over another car, and 4 Palestinians died. In that instant, people that wear near then started to throw stones to the Israelis that whore on the truck. That’s why the first intifada is Know as the war of the stones. In this intifada several radical organizations appear, in those, we can find the Hamas, the intend is to take out the Israeli forces from the occupied territories, through attacks on Israeli troops and settlers in the Palestinian territories and against civilians in Israel, now days this group still exist.

The first intifada conclude when the two parts, Israel and Palestine, (Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat) establish on the Oslo accords as part of a peace process trying to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the intervention of the government of the United States. That agreement said that Palestine need to stop the violence in exchange the Israelis forces will retried from Palestine however booth sides ended disappointed, with this disappointment it came the second intifada identified as the Al-Aksa intifada,

began when the Oslo accord conclude , the Israelis forces increase the troops and continue in the Gaza strip and the West Bank. On the other hand the palatines begin it massive terrorist attacks to the Israelis people. Both sides have massive lost of lives in this second intifada.

They did not have diplomacy help, and the negotiations broke down suicide Palestinians bombers were every were at the same time the Israelis forces were increased, the radical group al-fatah was the responsible once again to take the Jews out of the Palestinians lands, the lieder of this group was Arafat until his dead in 2004, they were the most powerful group and controlled the power of Palestine until the elections in 2006 when hamas won.

February 2005 the hopes for a political resolution were once more raised, the retry of Yasser Arafat , call new elections, and Ariel Sharon try to brig together and conform the peace between these two nations.
The intifadas bring a whole new chapter in the world history, and we hope that no more intifadas will come in the feature, with the help of other nations a solution will come, and the governments on both sides can discus this peacefully, and stop that neither of the intifadas happen again.

The situation in the Gaza strip is really difficult, and sad, I think that the people don’t realize that what they are living, is not normal, the are being living this situation for years that they don now a deferent way to live, they just accept it, I mean they now that is wrong, but they don say anything, there are shutting in the middle of the street and the stay there in the middle, is become so natural to see that they don’t realize how wrong it is. On the other hand, the news are showing us a part of the conflict, they show the fights, the trouble, but they don’t show the pain the suffering of both sides the anger and the dead of a lot of innocents people that doesn’t have any were to go, the government should come whit a solution immediately this can not stay like this for ever, they should finish this the sun as possible.

Definition of Therms
bias/blas-free

Biased language refers to people in imbalance or inaccurate ways it leaves out certain individuals or groups. Categorize people when is unnecessary to do so and when this is not done in similar cases: black defendant when it is never the white defendant. as soon as we mention sex, ethnicity, religion, disability, or other characteristic whithout a good reason for doing so we are on thin ice

Inclusive/Exclusive

Inclusive: the greates revolution of our generation is the discovery that the human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds can change the outer aspects of their lives.
Exclusive: man is the measure of all things.

Sexist/Nonsexist

Sexist language promotes and maintains attitudes that sterotype people according to gender while assuming that the male is the norm- the sifnificant gender. Nonsexist language treats both sexes equally and either does not refer to a persons sex at all when it is irrelevant or refers to men and women and to girls and boys in symmetrical ways.

Gender-free/Gender-fair/Gender-specific

Gender-free terms do not indicate sex and can be used for all people.
Gender- fair involves the symmetrical use of gender-specific words and promotes fairness to both sexes in the larger context.
Gender speific words are neither good nor bad in themselves, but they sometimes identify and even emphasize a persons sex when it is not necessary to do so.

Generic/Pseudogeneric

A generic is an all- purpose word that includes everybody.
A pseudogeneric is a word used as though it includes everybody but that in reality does not.

Sex/Gender

Gender is cultural: a societys notions of masculine are based on how it expects men o behave, and its notions of femenine are based on how it expects women to behave.

The use of he to mean he and she is ambiguous, the grammatical justification for its use is problematic, and it is not percived as including both women abd men

Parallel Treatment

Parallel treatment of terms is essential when discussing different groups: white and nonwhite are not parallel. The problems with nonparallel treatment are most easily seen in gender asymmetries

Gender Role Words

Sex linked words like feminine/masculine depend for their meanings on cultural steriotypes and thus may be grossly inaccurate when applied to individuals.

Feminine Words Endings

Suffixes like ess, ette and trix specify a persons sex when gender is irrelevant carry a demeaning sense of littleness or triviality perpetuate the notion that the male is the norm and the female is the subset, a deviation, a secondary classification.

Woman-Man-Person

The weak, awkward, and annoying suffix is not generally recomended , it was usefull in making the transitions to inclusive language because it awas so easy to tack-person onto words, but it not only looks contived, it is contrived, any further and thus overlook more dinamic and descriptive words.

Because the male has been considered more important than the female, the male words has traditionally been placed firts.

sweet dreams

having sweet dreams all night is not and easy task, sometimes eating really late dosent help , because you have nigtmares and youre stomake hurts , some way to have sweet dreams is goin to bed with happy thouths or sleeping early dometimes help. Sweet dreams also can be created just imaginating happy things like birds , clows, bonnies, etc, just thinking about it can take you to a happy place .

my favorite memory of carnaval, was the time that i was 15 years old, i was really happy, my parenst finally let me go wiht my friends to the garabato.

i had so much fun , i did not see the parei in live , i whach it the naxt day on tv, it was ok, doset make me ungry, the costumes , the dancers, the coreography everything was excelent.

i had some troubels, because the people drinks and start cosing problems so you have to stay alert all the time, but you can still have fun, i did.

some pareis are very organice like la batalla de florez y la gran parada. Beutifull costumes and cars pasing by the street, you can really apreciate the parey.
